One of the reconstructed earth mounds at Sutton Hoo (not the famous one). The one in which the ship burial was found would have been twice as large as this, but is now much smaller as it wasn't reconstructed. And because we did a tour of the site we actually got to go in and climb on the mounds!
A reconstruction of the ship burial, complete with plastic dead guy. Interestingly they didn't acutally find any body, or timber from the ship, as both had disolved long ago. The 'ship' was marked by the iron rivets and dis-coloured sand.
