Sutton Hoo, Claire & Benno plus BT and Hagemeyer

One of the reconstructed earth mounds at Sutton Hoo. The one in which the ship burial was found is twice as large as this. And cause we did a tour of the site we actually got to go into the site and climb on the mounds!
One of the reconstructed earth mounds at Sutton Hoo (not the famous one). The one in which the ship burial was found would have been twice as large as this, but is now much smaller as it wasn't reconstructed. And because we did a tour of the site we actually got to go in and climb on the mounds!
A reconstruction of the ship burial, complete with plastic dead guy. Interestingly they didn't acutally find any body, or timber from the ship, as both had disolved long ago. The 'ship' was marked by the iron rivets and dis-coloured sand.

The happily engaged couple at breakfast the next morning. Not even a night on our lumpy futon bed/sofa had ruined their happy mood!

Kate's new office, the top row of open windows on the right. How I miss CSIRO's over-active airconditioner!
