We stayed in the penthouse of a hostel (if those two words can be used in the same sentence), and what a view! |

The unbombed city of Prague has great, old buildings. One cool local style is scraping the plaster off to reveal the mortar and make designs. It's called sgraffito. Cool name, too. |
Gratuitous tram picture. They move a bit faster than Melbourne trams, but the drivers still Ding! |
The old Jewish quarter is very moving and interesting. This cemetary has the gravestones from several other cemetaries, and is just a bit creepy.
Looking out from the top of St Vitus' church over the Prague Castle. You can see some of Prague's bridges in the background. |
This is Charles Bridge, leading to the Castle, from one of its towers. The tourist movie shown in the tower is so dull that it's more interesting to listen to it in Czech.
Prague had a serious flood a couple of years ago. Here is one of the flood defences, with Charles Bridge and the Castle behind. |
Leaving Prague, this is Cesky Raj (Josie tells us it means Czech Paradise).
We reach the highest point. Sheer cliffs all around. Someone has sensibly installed a railing. But Josie has no fear of heights. Kate can't look! |
We have a lot of photos of pretty Cesky Raj trees, but here's one of us in front of some. Autumn with altitude.
