All that remains of the castle is the walled keep. It would have contained numerous buildings including a great hall and chapel. The castle has 13 towers, obviously the owners weren't a superstitious lot. |
The keep does contain this building which is now a private residence (how cool would it be to live there?) and the ticket office. It was built as a poor house after the castle fell into disuse. |

Originally the moat would have protected the castle from people. These days, people are protected from the moat by a fence. But what's to protect the fence from Andrew? |
