The Kings Arms Pub in Bury which restored our faith in English

 |
The Nutshell, the smallest pub in Britain. |

The ruins of St. Edmundbury Abbey, now a lovely park. This
is the main part of the cathedral. The four pillars held the
dome up and you can see a window frame on the left. |
 |
Yep, you can just hang out amongst 800 year old walls. |

The gorgeous garden beds in the old central courtyard of
the abbey. |
 |
The 'new' Bury St. Edmunds cathedral in the background with
a statue of St. Edmund in the foreground. He was a lot steelier
than we expected :) |

The old abbey gate or Great Gate (we thought it was) which
leads into the current Abbey Gardens. |

This is the Norman Tower, constucted around 1120-1148 or
so. It's one of the few Norman structures still standing and
is now used as the bell tower of the current cathedral. |
