The ruins of St. Edmundbury Abbey, now a lovely park. This is the main part of the cathedral. The four pillars held the dome up and you can see a window frame on the left.

The old abbey gate or Great Gate (we thought it was) which leads into the current Abbey Gardens.

This is the Norman Tower, constucted around 1120-1148 or so. It's one of the few Norman structures still standing and is now used as the bell tower of the current cathedral.
